OUR TEAM

DOUGLAS L. FREEMAN, CPA

Doug spent the first 10 years of his career working in public accounting firms, both large and small. He left public accounting when he was offered the CFO position for a regional technology solution provider. The role allowed him to practice his passion – working with a small business to use finance and accounting to enable growth. Following his work at the technology firm, Doug took on the challenge of a similar position at a much larger global product testing and safety company. While he relished the growth opportunities this position provided, he realized he missed his true passion. In late 2015, Doug decided to establish his own CPA practice, which led to his acquisition of Kelly T. Davis, CPA, PA, in November 2016.

Doug graduated from Baylor University in 1988 with a bachelor of business administration in accounting and finance. He is both a CPA and CGMA and is licensed in Kansas. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, as well as the Kansas Society of CPAs. Doug is engaged with several ministries in Kansas City, but one of his favorites is leading an annual trip to Haiti through The Global Orphan Project. Doug has been married for more than 30 years and has five children. While this generally keeps him busy on evenings and weekends either coaching or watching one of his kids in sports, he can sometimes be found relaxing at the lake with his family.

KELLY T. DAVIS, CPA, CGMA

Kelly has been a successful CPA for more than 30 years. He graduated from Western Carolina University in 1980, then remained in the Carolinas serving as a tax partner of a local CPA firm. Several years later, a client specially selected him to become the company’s Chief Financial Officer. In that position, Kelly played an instrumental role in building a successful mail order and publishing business. During his tenure, Kelly helped grow the company’s revenues from being measured in thousands to being measured in the millions. He followed that success by starting and growing a separate internet service provider business. In 1998, he started doing accounting work in Kansas and Missouri, establishing Kelly T. Davis, CPA, PA, in 2002.

Kelly earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in accounting. A member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Kansas Society of Certified Public Accountants, he is licensed to practice in Kansas and Missouri. Kelly is active in The Knights of Columbus and numerous organizations at St. Michael the Archangel Parish and enjoys camping, hunting and fishing. His favorite pastime is spending quality time with his wife and family.

Camille earned her degree in business administration from Montclair State College. She began her professional career in banking, focusing on residential mortgage and commercial lending. Business Development Director

DEBBIE DAVIS

Debbie has years of both small and large business experience in sales, marketing and public relations. Before joining husband Kelly Davis at the firm, Debbie was employed as sales and marketing manager/business development for health care with one of the largest senior housing companies in the United States. Debbie earned her bachelor’s degree from Mars Hill University and her dental hygiene degree from Asheville-Buncombe Technical College.

Relationship building is inherent in who Debbie is. She loves meeting new people, learning their stories and seeing how she can help them, either personally or professionally.

“The world is full of amazing people with ordinary and extraordinary gifts and talents,” she says. “My role with the company allows me not only to tell about our amazing team and the value they bring to small businesses but to connect people and build referral partnerships.”

Some of the many civic, community and networking organizations for which Debbie volunteers her time include the Leawood Chamber of Commerce and the American Heart Association-KC, where she’s an ambassador for both groups. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, singing in her church choir and spending time with her family. She also has a passion for travel, an interest that recently took her to Ireland and the Holy Land.

“Being of Scottish and Irish descent made the Ireland trip more interesting, and the pilgrimage to the Holy Land was an amazing journey of history and faith. I highly recommend both,” Debbie says.

Staff Accountant

STACEY EITZMANN

Stacey’s part-time role includes bookkeeping and financial analysis. She holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in accounting from Pittsburg State University and an MBA from Baker University.

Before joining the firm, Stacey spent eight years in accounting and finance roles before stepping away to raise a family.

She has been a leader in her church and at the school her children attend, where she served as the Board of Education finance lead and the Parent-Teacher League treasurer. She also chaired and co-chaired several fundraisers, including live and silent auction events. When her last child started school, Stacey became a part-time preschool teacher because it allowed her the flexibility to hold a job and not miss a single sporting event.

On the weekends, she’s usually on the sidelines cheering on one of her children in their year-round soccer, gymnastics and high school and youth sporting events. On rare weekends off, she heads for the lake.

Staff Accountant

NATALIE FREEMAN

As Doug’s wife and the mother of five children, Natalie primarily sees herself as a wife and mom. But when her oldest child headed to college in 2016, she joined the firm as an independent bookkeeper, a role that has allowed her to utilize her education, past work experience and desire to serve others. Natalie’s role in the firm varies from bookkeeping to financial analysis and will continue to evolve over time.

After earning her bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in finance from Baylor University, Natalie began her career with Andersen Consulting. She then spent 10 years working for Hallmark Cards. During her years as a full-time, stay-at-home-mom, she held leadership roles in groups such as Mothers of Preschoolers and was active in volunteer positions at her kids’ schools. Natalie now spends most of her volunteer hours serving with the International Wives Connection, a part of the International Students Incorporated organization.

Staff Accountant

Victoria Shipp

Before joining our firm in 2022, Victoria honed her accounting and tax skills for more than 25 years. She has worked for large and small CPA firms in the United States and with the Department of Finance and Accounting in both the U.S. and Germany. She became a controller for a large chain of stores for a few years and, after a stint at RSM, she was clear in her preference for the atmosphere of a smaller CPA firm where everyone knows your name.
Victoria earned her bachelor’s degree in accounting from William Jewell College and her MAFM and MBA in business from Keller Graduate School of Management.
Outside the office, Victoria is a zealous volunteer with several non-profit animal rescue organizations. She provides “freedom” rides on the weekends, pulling and transporting animals to safe foster and adoption locations. As an avid baker and cook, she makes tasty cakes, cupcakes and other gluten-free treats and picks up recipes during her travels. Victoria also enjoys quilting, sewing and reading. Travel fuels her interest in learning languages. So far, besides English, she speaks, reads and writes Spanish and Portuguese and speaks and reads basic German, Italian and Czech.
