At Douglas L Freeman, CPA we believe in giving back to our community. One such way is being involved in the Leawood, Kansas, Chamber of Commerce. On December 10th, 2019 the chamber held its Annual Chamber Luncheon. During this luncheon, the President and CEO of the chamber, Kevin Jefferies recognized the board members for their service to the chamber and also presented the Brian Schwark Ambassador of the Year Award winner.

“A big thank you goes to our Chamber Ambassadors. This sociable, service-oriented group can be counted on to attend Ribbon Cuttings, serve as greeters at events, and volunteer for many of the Chamber’s other activities. Annually, in honor of the service and dedication of this great group of volunteers and in memory of our good friend, we present the Brian Schwark Ambassador of the year Award.
This award is voted on by their peers on the Ambassadors Committee. Nominees are chosen based on characteristics such as:
- Their willingness to help others connect
- Promoting the Leawood Chamber to prospective member businesses
- Greeting members and guests at events
Which are all characteristics that Brian Schwark embodied.
Many of our Ambassadors choose to serve on the committee for many years. Because of that, they are eligible to win the Ambassador of the Year award multiple times. For the first time since the award was established, we have a repeat winner.
Our 2019 Ambassador of the Year award recipient has been involved with the Chamber in various ways for over 10 years. Our recipient can be counted on to always greet you with a smile, and in fact, she may have greeted you today as you came into the event. She’s also one of the Chamber’s greatest advocates, often inviting prospective members to accompany her to Chamber events to learn about what makes the Leawood Chamber special.
